Description

Messmer Salbei mit Eukalyptus Tee – Sage with Eucalyptus Tea 25x

When sage meets eucalyptus, a pleasantly spicy mixture is created. For centuries people have valued the beneficial properties of sage for hoarseness and sore throats. Our tea masters have refined the Messmer sage tea with eucalyptus, orange leaves and liquorice roots to make it a pleasant, fresh tea treat.

What is sage?
Sage belongs to the mint family. Did you know that the Latin word for sage “salvare” means “to heal”? The original growing area of this plant is in the Mediterranean area and has meanwhile expanded to all of Europe. Today, sage is found on almost every continent.

And what is eucalyptus?
The eucalyptus, also called blue gum trees, are a species of plant that is native to Australia and Indonesia. When we think of eucalyptus, two things immediately come to mind: koalas and cough drops. Or? The leaves and bark of trees are the main food of Australian fur animals and the essential oils of eucalyptus are a popular ingredient in cough drops.

PREPARATION:  Infusion temperature: boiling, 100 °C / 212° F | Brewing time: 6 minutes | Use 1 tea bag for a cup and at least 3 tea bags for a pot. Always pour boiling water on top and let it steep! This is the only way to obtain safe food.

About Messmer

Messmer – a formerly independent tea trading company – is now a brand of the Ostfriesische Tee Gesellschaft.

The company has its origins in a delicatessen and grocery store that was founded on September 21, 1852 by Eduard Meßmer in Baden-Baden. Messmer soon became the purveyor to the court of Wilhelm of Prussia and his wife Augusta, who for many years were guests at his father Johann Friedrich Baptist Messmer’s hotel, the Hotel Messmer. In 1886 Messmer was able to open a branch in Frankfurt am Main, which was managed by his son Otto Messmer (1858-1940). In 1895, Otto Messmer had the Messmer Tee trademark protected.

In 1990 the company Ed. Messmer GmbH & Co., Frankfurt am Main and Grettstadt, was taken over by the East Frisian Tea Company Laurens Spethmann GmbH & Co. KG from Seevetal. The current range of the Messmer brand includes 46 types of tea or tea blends, which are sold both loosely and in double-chamber tea bags.
